True story: Me oul fella’s team missed out on winning the 1994 Leinster final of Scór because one of the other fellas on the team was asked a question about who was the Mayor Of Limerick who had recently been banned from doing a reading at mass because she was a Protestant. He answered Jan…Jan…Jan…Flanagan. Me oul’ fella was ripping at this and from that day forward he often sarcastically referred to Jan O’Sullivan as Jan Flanagan.

Moral of the story is there less Flanagans than some people think.
