I think he took the pressure off Reed somewhat by taking on the role of final pairing choker early enough in the round. While McIlroy was moping around for most of the day Reed could have confidence in the fact that he was well on top of his playing partner

Iâve checked out of golf now until the weekend of the Open in July. Youâll have to find it yourself.
To play like it means nothing, when in fact it means everything. If it was as simple as adopting that mindset, there would be many other world champions across all sport. Something like that is innate and cannot be learned imho.
McIIroy has won three out of the four top majors (as well as many of the top tournaments around the world). He has plenty of bottle. Only 5 players have ever won all four grand slam tournaments. That shows what a difficult pursuit it is.

Iâd say if you did a Venn Diagram of people who think Tony OâDonoghue is sound, Rory McIlpube is a smashing fella and the rubby ref Nigel Owens is a top man then youâd have thousands of bland wankers smack bang in the middle of it. Itâs absolutely petrifying to think thatâs the way itâs gone now in Ireland.
