Are you honestly saying that putting a hand on someoneās shoulder while explaining yourself is that same as approaching them and pushing/poking them in the chest in a threatening manner like Connolly did?
As I said the rule probably needs to be amended to include āin a threatening mannerā to make it more precise.
It was a black and white issue last week. Now some Muldoon does it for Galway and all the Culchies are moving the goalposts. Itās a witch hunt against Dermo pure and simple.

Got the story from inside Parnell Park.
The appeal went in on Friday but Dublin had planned on withdrawing the appeal today if Mayo and Kerry both won yesterday. They feel only Mayo and Kerry can trouble them but now that there is the possibility that they can meet Mayo in a quarter final they are pressing ahead with the appeal.

So youāre saying that Connolly is guilty and the proposed suspension is valid under the current rules then?
Iām saying Connolly is guilty of the same infraction at least 3 players committed in televised matches this weekend.

I tend to agree with that the laying on a hand example in the rules is harsh, as long as it wasnāt done in a threatening manner, but Connolly went a step further and clearly pushed the linesman back with his hand.
Did that happen in the other cases over the weekend? If so then they should definitely also face the same ban as Connolly and it should be enforced.

And the referees report made reference to the fact that Connolly pushed the linesman/assistant referee.
On that basis along you can stop comparing it to every time that a player makes slight contact with an official.
So why didnāt the referee deal with it immediately? Its a red card offence
