The Let Kev at your Back thread

Yes chewy. That level of intake of ibuprofen will give you ulcers.

Unrelated Iā€™d say. Another blister pack of Nurofen should see you right.

my headache (more of a dull pain behind my right eye) is starting to return. May as well take another couple as it will help the pain dissipate and I have the scutters anyway

fcuk. iā€™m not liking the sound of this. take 6 weeks off and iā€™ll be a moderator.

presume the bruising/swelling caused by a tear would show up where the muscle is torn?
(i.e. not show up elsewhere like the shin or wherever fluid accumulates)

so the lack of a large yellow bruise on the calf muscle means itā€™s only a strain?

Do you also have a pain in your neck?

Not really, the headache lasted nearly a week on and off, presume it was synous(sp) related

Shame, I thought you had meningitis.

It really depends, but if a physio was working on it, it would be very tender if torn in certain spots. The colour of the bruise would not be a great way of indicating anything really. Neither would the lack of a bruise, as it could be deeper, thus potentially worse and harder to heal. Only a pro would tell you for sure. I think a Sports Massage therapist would suffice myself in this case.

grand so. iā€™ll get some asian chick to rub it better.

:stuck_out_tongue:

anybody every get a mortons neuroma in their foot? if so how did you get rid of it?

I did. *Absolute cunt of a thing. Got it from wearing boots that were too tight. A sharp shooting pain when you kick a ball that shot up the leg by the time it got really bad. Itā€™s basically a trapped nerve (think it might actually be a tendon) in your foot. Rest didnā€™t get rid of it. Physios here didnā€™t get rid of it. I went to a massage hospital staffed by blind people in Beijing and got massage and some ultraviolet therapy on it. I knew by the end of the first session that it was working. Itā€™s the most painful massage Iā€™ve ever had. Youā€™ve got to get someone to get in deep between your bones and massage the living shit out of it. This blind lad had me close to tears. My advice is to find some sadist willing to pound the shit out of your foot and tell them not to stop til tears are rolling down your cheek.

  • Iā€™ve written the rest of this post in the style of Kev

thats it. i hope i have caught in in the early stages. off to podiatrist tomorrow. he was talking about getting a cortisone injection but im not that keen on it.

Good luck with that FP. Hope you have got it early. I gave mine three monthā€™s rest and it got better til I played again. It was alright when I ran just hurt like fuck when I kicked a ball.

My back is still giving me a lot of trouble at night. After my initial physio visits it cleared up for 5/6 days but since then Iā€™ve been intermittently getting severe pain in my back for 3/4 day bursts. Each time it comes back the pain has moved a bit further down my back and has me awake at 4 in the morning.
I paid my first visit to the doctor in nearly 2 years today. He didnā€™t say much but sent me off for blood tests and to call back later in the week. In the meantime feell free to speculate what life
threatening illness I may contracted.

You may have one leg longer then the other. Or are you sleeping on pallets?

hope its nothing serious mate & while i dont think it is, I heard back pain is an awful infliction to have - hope it clears up soon

+1

Stay away from doctors Runt, unless its a disc then they can do nothing to help you. The blood tests are a definite indication that he hasnā€™t a clue. Is your back only troubling you at night or is it a constant issue? Anything specific that sets the pain off? Might be worth seeing an osteopath if the physio canā€™t cure you.

Have you tried jamming your thumb up your ass mate?
