The long and bumpy road to Super Bowl XLVI

2.30 / 3.00

Let’s go Big Blue.

LET’S GO GIANTS

Superb rendition of the anthem. This is football

still buzzing after that.

In all honesty, the Ravens just fucked away their best chance of a superbowl in a long time. They had it all going for them. Brady was shite, Gronk got injured and went out of it then. They had a plus 3 on the turnovers. They were moving the ball on the pass. Granted, their one downfall was Ray Rice was quiet. They had a catch in the end zone and Evans didnt hold on. And they had a chance to call a time out, settle down for the kick, and get OT.

Delighted the Patriots go through, but I wouldnt be confident of winning it all. Granted the defence pulled out some great plays at crucial moments, Vince Wilfork was massive (literally) on the second last drive. But the Patriots can not rely on this defence to win a championship. Brady even said it, it was the defence that won tonight (and a very solid running game and great plays from the offensive line). But we need to be able to move the ball better, and really need to make more of redzone trips.

fucking hell though. will take me ages to get to sleep after that.

Cuntdiff has doing the rounds for various teams for at least a decade. He’s never struck me as a kicker I’d want with a pressure shot like that. No better man than Ray Lewis to shoot him in the dressing room. Gutted for Lewis and Ed Reed. The Ravens have always been a team I’m well disposed towards. They should have won that. Still, it at least means I won’t have a dilemma as to who to support in the Superbowl.

I do have a dilemma as to who to support in the big clash. 49ers v Giants at Candlestick. This is a classic NFC Championship clash. It’s lthe NFL equivalent of Liverpool v Barcelona at Anfield. No piddling Arizona v Carolina or New Orleans v Minnesota. I hope to hear plenty of “Manning to Manningham” - my favourite three sporting words so far this year after “Christian “Lipstick” Kist”. But I hope the 49ers do it, just. I predict a Giants wiin on a scoreline of 30-27 however. But whatever happens I know football will be the winner in this much anticipated classic, storied clash.

heartbroken after that

Let’s go to work Elite.

What about Baldinger saying he thought Evans had possession of the ball and it should have been a TD? I completely disagree with that but the play should have been reviewed to make sure.

eli looking in the mood already…

Bradshaw won’t get much change out this D tonight.

Screen please.

Harbaugh should have at least challenged that, the Ravens simply melted at the end, horrific to watch :frowning:

I was thinking that myself and was surprised it wasn’t even debated by the commentators at the time. Greg Jennings was awarded the TD in very similar circumstances a couple of weeks ago. His was even more contensious

It should have gone to the booth automatically though, was the point. Inside the last 2 minutes and a potential scoring play.

yeah I didnt htink he had posession at all either. his second foot was never down. put it this way, if it was out the field, would it have been viewed a fumble when he dropped it? never. need to have posession and secure it. can only have a challenge, or in this case in the final 2 minutes, a review from upstairs, but if it dosent look likely they wont bother. and it really didnt look like it there.

fuck. Giants lucky to keep that ball.

Their tone barely recognised the significance of the play. It was surreal. Evans literally (thanks Jamie Redknapp) let the chance to go to the Super Bowl slip through his hands.

Fuck Yeah!!!

Smith to Davis

Boooooom
