This is a dinger. Clint Mansell was the singer with Pop Will Eat Itself. This doesn’t sound much like PWEI.
Outstanding. Much like the film, very fucking unsettling.
Never saw the film to be honest but I very much like the soundtrack.
Its not exactly a feelgood story. Drugs are bad.
I’ve read enough about it to know that I wouldn’t like it.
I played Lux Aeterna when it came out at the time for a friend. She said it sounded like a recurring nightmare. Pretty apt really. Brilliantly used in Sunshine also.
Bit of a more mellow twist, I always liked the Cider House Rules Soundtrack
Legends of the Fall is another lovely one, from the great James Horner
Sunshine - John Murphy (Adagio in D minor) Surface of the Sun
Blood Simple theme - Carter Burwell

It Follows had a great soundtrack with a strong John Carpenter like 70s-80s synth.
Michael Nymans The Departed from the excellent Gattaca

Incidentally the entire Gattaca film is available on youtube. If you haven’t seen it, it comes with a massive MBB recommendation.
Hated the film, loved the soundtrack.
The Fountain, by Clint Mansell
Listening to Morricones soundtrack to the Hateful Eight here. It’s very good. I think he might finally have won the Oscar for it. Been going through my soundtrack record box here, listened to Assault on Precinct 13, Manhattan, Psycho, Drugstore Cowboy and a virtually unknown Morricone one, the Two Stages of Life.
He did. It was a beautiful moment.
He’s doing a concert over here next week.
