The new normal is

August is 11 months away so the 72 hour requirement should not be an issue for you.

I donā€™t think any building sums up the impact of this more than Dublin airport. Itā€™s usually crammed with life, with passengers coming and going, literally a symbol of inward and outward tourism and business.

Now itā€™s empty

People are deathly afraid of flying. I suppose it makes some sense, cooped up in a tin can for hours with hundreds of other people is possibly one of the most likely places to get infected, even with the air flow in planes and everyone wearing masks, itā€™s still probably moderate risk. I think itā€™ll take a change in peopleā€™s attitude to getting Covid before we see a big pickup in flying.

Hundreds? Iā€™d say if transatlantic flights have 20 or 30 people on them now, itā€™s as much.

Agreed, but itā€™s the fear of being in close proximity to other people who could be infected that has people petrified.

What people? Irrational people?

Businesses ainā€™t forking out much for flights currently, thatā€™s a lot of it too. Weā€™re grounded until further notice.

Everyone is irrational mate, just vary in degrees of it. TFK is an oasis of rationality compared to the general population.

No it isnā€™t. Youā€™re being irrational. Itā€™s a breeding ground for fascists that have convinced themselves that theyā€™re anti-fascist.

Those people have been chased, you must not have been around for a while.

Thereā€™s a few of the cunts still floating around, I suspect.

And the publican expected to record what you ate and drank, and if you used two sheets of paper or just the one when you wiped your ring.

The most confused virus of all time. If you have a pizza in a pub, it canā€™t get you, but if you go into a shop without a face coveringā€¦ BANG! Dead.

Thatā€™s the most sensible thing youā€™ve ever said. Well done kid.

Watching fellaā€™s crack up every night on the INTERNET

A requirement for every passenger to have a COVID free cert is probably whatā€™s needed to get aviation moving.

I donā€™t think itā€™s a fear of flying. After 9/11 they closed the skies for a few weeks and people were trapped away from home - aviation was affected for a while. People are afraid of being trapped or stuck away from home, kids etc.

Hepa filters and the fact planes are not at full capacity makes them relatively safe. Higher risks are getting to the airport and queuing at the airport.

Heathrow is trialling three kinds of tests with result time ranging from almost immediate to thirty minutes.

God be with the days when you were on a plane and you were watching every move of an Arab lad with thick soled shoes.
