Goal for NCW

Hon the magpies.

The Longford replay finished level. 10 points a piece. Into extra time we go.

Half time in extra time. 12 points each.

passed though portlaoise today. Couldn’t believe the amount of arles kilcruise fans leaving O’Moore Park at half time. It was only 1-7 to 0-5

Killoe Emmett Og win it by 3 points.

0-15 to 0-12
James Stephens 4-12 Graigue Ballycallan 0-15

We needed 2 goals from a 16 year old to dig us out of a first half hole.
First goal a screamer, the second should have been saved.

Eoin Larkin the difference between the teams.

Worrying for Ballycallan that Eddie Brennan and John Hoyne were arguably their most effective players

Killoe playing Wexford champions St Annes next weekend.

O’Loughlin’s 1-14. Carrickshock 1-11.

3 city teams in senior semi finals. I don’t remember that happening before

Well, the Boro have been shit for a very long time.

They’ll be going down soon unless they get some new players. In truth they did pretty well to keep out of the relegation scrap.

I was talking to my brother about this. He was saying that GBC are full of players he played against U16.
And when they go to their bench they bring on lads older again.

He is mid 30s.

Bullshit.

Portlaoise win 6 in a row. Laois Senior Football scene at an all time low in my memory.

True. No agenda here. I’m from KK. Turned on midland 103 to see if Portlaoise were three or four goals up when I was about 30 people leaving, including parents with kids all dressed up in red and white. Just thought it as surprising.

Red and White? You fucking simpleton.

How many million are Portlaoise GAA in debt? Could they do a Crossmaglen and dominate the Laois county championship for years?

€6.5 Million was the figure published in the past. Nama will get them eventually. As for dominating, yes, they can and will, but while Crossmaglen are a top notch battlehardened outfit sharpened by contests inside and out of Armagh, Portlaoise get a free ride year in year out because other Clubs just can’t compete with their sheer numbers. Emigration will compound this and its hard to see a future where anyone can compete with them. Portlaoise don’t get challenged in Laois, their management wouldnt be one I’d rate highly and are vulnerable then every time they step into Leinster.

To put corner back out of his misery, Arles Kilcruise wear maroon and the red and white shirts leaving were Emo supporters, the Intermediate Football winners. Anyone who knows Arles Kilcruise knows they’re as tight a team and village as you’re likely to come across and I can guarantee you, not one of their number left that ground until the final whistle.

They’re a study in sheer stubbornness in how they have maximised their resources since the split but its a sad thing that the split ever happened. They’ve one SFC but had a reunion come to pass as had been mooted about 6 or so years ago they’d have been more than able to knock Portlaoise. Unfortunately the time has passed, the players are all over the hill and the opportunity is gone.

All Ireland Intermediate Champions Mount Leinster Rangers routed Erins Own of Bagenalstown 3-13 to 0-6 in the Carlow Senior Hurling Final today. Kilcormac/Killoughey have to travel down to Carlow to face them now. That could be interesting. Winners of that face the Laois or Westmeath champions in the semi final.

Kilmacud Crokes, Oulart and Kilkenny champions all on the other half of the draw.

Is it just that they are the only club in the town? They must dominate to an even bigger level at underage where the pick would come in to play even more.

Are there any other similar sized towns in other counties with only one club?

A great side of the draw to be on. Rathdowney Errill came back from the dead on Saturday, they trailed a rampant Clough Ballacolla outfit by 7 points at the break, but went onto outscore the defending champions 11 points to 1 in the second half to win by 3. Clough Ballacolla had a man sent off, but the game was going away from them already at that point. A sweet win for Rathdowney Errill, Clough Ballacolla will be kicking themselves though.

That split is mental. 3 clubs and hardly a village.
