The Official 2012 Club Championship Thread

There was always a concern that the Village were over reliant on Larkin and that others in the forward line would need to contribute more for them to retain.
Scorers:-
Eoin Larkin 0-11
Ger Flood 0-1
Matthew Ruth 0-1
Diarmuid Cody 0-1
Donnacha Cody 0-1
Niall Tyrrell 0-1

Oh well.

Yeah James Stephens were a one man team today. Dicksboro played well as a team, they look a very young side.

Ballyhale were impressive against o’loughlin Gaels. Don’t know what o’loughlin plan was with the 2 man full forward line which clearly wasn’t working, they put up a bit of a fight at the end but were outclassed all through the game.

Half time in Dublin county final

Ballymun Kickhams 1-8 Kilmacud Crokes 0-5

Ballymun Kickhams have won their first county title since 1985. Paul Curran’s team held off a late challenge from Kilmacud Crokes to win by a point on a 1-12 to 0-14 scoreline.

fair play to the mun…and Paul curran too…honestly didn´t think they had it in them…delighted to be proved wrong…

think they are unbeaten in league and champo all year… :strokechin:

Anyone know which province plays which in the All Ireland club semi finals…football that is

think leinster might play munster in semis…as garrycatle played rosscommn champs last year in semi´s…and think kilmacud crokes played crossmaglen in semis the year before… :strokechin:

9.15 on a freezing October bank holiday monday night is a disgrace of a time to be presented with the dublin senior football championship trophy…players deserve more respect…

Why wasn’t it played yesterday do you know? Seems odd, if it was on TV you’d say something, there must have been some reason given?

don´t know how true it is but i heard because celebrity bainisteoir had booked parnell for yesterday !!!..jokeshop if true !!!

But that was played Friday night?

then i don´t know the reason to be honest…i´m no longer in the inner sanctum…just a washed up has/never been…

Congratulations to Ballymun Kickhams on winning the Dublin senior football championship last night against Crokes. I know Ballymun have being building for this that last few years and have put in a mountain of work at under age level to achieve this. Always nice for a Northside team to win championship.

Why was it fixed for Monday night Taz?

No one really knows. Parnell Park was booked on the Friday night for the Celebrity Bainsteoir final but I don’t think there was anything on there on Saturday and Sunday. I know the Crokes manager said in the paper before the match that he couldn’t understand why it was on a Monday night either. Maybe the county board thought that the could maximise the crowd on the Monday night rather than the Sunday as they probably thought a lot of people would be away for the weekend. That’s the only reason I can think off.

So basically a lot of people are complaining that it was on Monday night, but no-one actually seems know why it was on a Monday night. Very odd really.

Portlaoise will be creaming themselves this morning at the thoughts of a soft Leinster this year no doubt. They’d have feared an outfit like Crokes hugely, but even though Ballymun beat Crokes, they wouldn’t fear anyone left in Leinster now given their experience. They’d be foolish to do so, they’re far from the outfit they were, barely tested in Laois these days and go into Leinster without the sort of sharpness some of the other sides have. Saying that, they’re fresh and tend to aim to peak around this time nowadays so that will stand to them. Zach Tuohy is gone back to Australia early this year as well. They only played him for 20 minutes in the Laois semi final, but he’d be a huge asset in Leinster were he still available.

This is what I thought. Didn’t Ballyboden already win the senior b a couple of years ago and weren’t promoted

Think I said this earlier, it happened with St Brigids in the Football B a few years back and they were allowed in after an appeal. They were subsequently mysteriously drawn against their A side in the preliminary round and hammered.

Big congratulations to Rosegreen GAA club who beat everyone’s favorite team in West Tipperary, Cashel King Cormacs in the West Junior B Hurling final last Saturday. A much deserved 1-17 to 1-13 victory for the little Village.

:pint: :pint:

It’s not the first time it’s been played on a Monday night. The 2006 final between UCD and St. Vincent’s was played also on a Monday.
