The Official Arsenal 2013/14 Thread

@briantinnion , any news of any potential additions to the squad in January?

None that I am aware of. The Boss always reckons it’s hard to get super super quality in the January transfer window and I tend to agree with him.

The return of Oxlaide-Chamberlain and Podolski are like new signings anyway.

Horrible news for Walcott

Theo Walcott ruled out for six months
After coming off injured in Saturday’s 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur, the Club regrettably announces that Theo Walcott has sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee.

Theo will have surgery in London in the near future and is expected to be out for at least six months, therefore missing the remainder of the season and the World Cup in Brazil in the summer.

Everyone at Arsenal wishes Theo a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on a football pitch as soon as possible.

Fuck it anyway, worst fears about Walcott have been realised.

@briantinnion , what the fuck do we do now? Possible replacements.

Absolutely gutted for Pheo. Gutted.

His pace really gave Arsenal a different option. Oxlaide-Chamberlain can perhaps provide a similar threat with his pace but he’s just not as good as Pheo. I understand Oxlaide-Chamberlain will be available again from 1/18/14 so I will make my third visit of the season to the Emirates for the Fulham game and will report back to the forum on his recovery.

Can’t see a decent striker being available in the January transfer window so not even thinking about it.

Ha Ha Theo, serves you right you over-rated little cunt. Delighted he’s missing the World Cup too.

Classy.

You’re a right bitter fucker… Two nil, mate… Two nil.

Walcott will be a loss but he was missing for a large chunk of the first half of the season and Arsenal coped.

Gnabry will get more game time now and is a decent goal scorer. He doesn’t have Walcott’s pace but he strikes a ball very well. Also, Oxlade Chamberlain is back training and will have something to offer.

However, both of those can’t play in the centre forward position as Theo did on Saturday, so Wenger has to sign a striker now. It looks like he is a big fan of Draxler and there is some talk that Wenger would look to convert him in to a CF. that would be a big risk though and It doesn’t make much sense to spend a large amount of Money on a player and then try change him.

I guess the other options would be Jackson Martinez, Benteke or Michu. Top quality strikers like Costa, Falcao or Alexei Sanchez are not going to be available this month.

Of course another option is Robin Van Persie who seems to be very unhappy at Man United. Would any of you Other Arsenal fans take him back?

Correct Mark. It’s put a smile back on my face hearing this news.

You’re different gravy, pal.

You must have very little going on in your life, mate,

Depends on the cost really as Robin is a higher injury risk than others mentioned by you.

Plenty pal. But I’ll always find time to enjoy moments like this.

I don’t think I could stomach it. Can’t forgive him for walking out on a great club and a decent man who stood by him through rape allegations and 7 years of injuries. My dream over the next four years is for Arsenal to win a few league titles and a European Cup and for that cunt to have missed it all for the sake of one lousy title with the evil empire.

I would never wish injury on a Spurs player. In fact, I hope that Walker, Rose, Dawson and Soldado stay injury free and play every game this season.

While I have no issue with Walcott’s hand gestures to the Spurs fans he does come across as a bit of a twat goading the spurs fans while sitting on the stretcher with a serious knee injury.

Eh they were tossing coins at him and jeering him as he lay on the ground injured. In response, he told them the score of the game. Fuck them the soft windy cunts of they can’t take a bit back.

Have another read of my post there

I read it the first time. You said he was a twat for goading the Spurs fans, he might be a twat for a lot of things, but for giving precious football fans a bit of their own medicine, I would say he’s an alright sort. Tossing coins at an injured player and at stretcher carriers is a pathetic action so fuck them and fair fucks to Walcott.
