The Official Clare v Galway Thread

whats the story with Griffin?..heā€™s really struggled the last few years in matches when Clare needed a big performance from himā€¦same with carmodyā€¦gilligan will retireā€¦

Fierce disappointed leaving Ennsi this evening, fuck all game plan in the forwards and once BOC was sent off they gave upā€¦Mike Macā€™s days are numberedā€¦to make it worse Davy will trake over and he isnā€™t the man to take us forward at this moment in timeā€¦James Ownes was shite as wellā€¦

Conditions were perfect for clare really. They got home advantage. The got the bad weather. They narrowed the pitch. They were playing a Galway team with a fancy dan tag. The scene was set but Mollocking did not seem to be working. ā€œGive 'em Timberā€ tactics seemed ineffective. Two clare players, in separate incidents, shouldered Galway players in the back and off the ball. Sneaky, underhand little blows that achieved nothing but the lowering of their own reputations.

thats been davys plan from the beginning, cant see it hurtin ye,who else is in the runnin, bring back a bit of the loughlanne passion:guns:,

The Clare goalkeeper hitting Joe Canning from behind was pure cowardice.

ffs is that all u can come up with

Cannings tackle before it wasnā€™t exactly the bravest either.

Donā€™t remember seeing it, the Clare goalie was a coward regardless.

talk to me about this Joe Philly incident?

It was the reason the goalie did it , canning tackled around the neck with the arm.

Thought the ref was ok puke, let a bit go but equal enough.

Ref was fine, got the two big decisions correct.

He must be hanging out with Eddie Brennan so.

Yeah but Eddie gets a yellow for it and Canning doesnā€™t.
But like McIntyre said, the refs favour Kilkenny.

First half he let Galway away with a lot of pulling and dragging, Tony Griffin was soloing at one stage and was fouled twice in the process but no free was awarded and galway ended up scoring a point from the passage of playā€¦

Brennan was dead right to do what he did, Canning hit James Mac a worse belt a minute or two earlier with no ball in sightā€¦
Ah the cute Cork hoor bigging up the opposition.

Game next week should be a right good tussle. Canā€™t see either side getting further than a semi-final based on their performances so far.
Not at all - Galway are red-hot favourites going into this. For one, we struggled past them last year when they were basically just Joe Canning plus 14, this year they have the likes of Kavanagh, Lynch, Cullinane and Lee excelling, have a proper manager and destroyed Clare at a canter with Joe Canning doing nothing.

Cork on the other hand, have a rookie manager, still donā€™t have a center forward line, donā€™t have a forward on the level of Joe, have a rookie full back to mark him, have an out of form center-back, lack the physicality of Galway throughout the pitch and will have to rely on fecking Timmy McCarthy to stop John Lee from playing.

Or, Cork are fucked.

Give it up will ya, Locke has that market cornered around here.

Locke, is he impinging on any of your IC?

There was nothing factually lacking in that postā€¦unlike Lockeā€™s bollocks. The gist is self-evident - Galway have gotten better, and Cork worse, then last year.

Limerick have a great shot at getting to the final.
Laois/Dublin/Waterford possibly.

Canā€™t get over how bad Clare were.

Brennan deserved the card for retaliation but Canning went in with a swinging arm at nick height and should have got at least yellow.
Hurling is suffering for all these bad tackles being let go.

Another point I woudl like to make.
The likes fo Cork or Limerick have to put with with Gaelic Football and Rugby stealing youngsters so maybe only 1 in 3 gets to play hurling.
KK canā€™t be bothered doing anything other than hurling.
They should start every match -10 points for their lack of commitment to other sports.
