The Official Cork GAA 2017 Thread

I thought you could play both but Limerick didnā€™t use their Minors so I dunno.

Which is the right thing to do. More exposure for more lads.

Cork take a cheap win so.

you can use lads off the minor panel once they havenā€™t played championship

No, you can use any player that is under 17. There is no rule prohibiting lads who have played minor.

For this group of players it is their only shot at this age group as with the restructuring of minor next year they are overage. While you can argue both sides of this I donā€™t see the issue with lads on minor panels playing for the 17s if eligible this year seeing as it is a one year only thing and the lads who are under 17 deserve the opportunity to have the strongest team out.

Edit :Mixing up topics

In theory, thatā€™s right but the realityā€¦ they got one match and it didnā€™t seem to be any bit of a contest. The exposure those Limerick players got is limited.

Agreed. Seems like Limerick donā€™t give a shit about this comp really, might not be the only ones.

Em more players expised to county games.

Very simple problem/reason its dumb

Iā€™m thinking from a cork POV. They typically restricted themselves.
Lets say its 5 (iā€™m not 100%) then thats 5 players who will NOT get a chance to play for Cork, for now at least.

Limerick have done the right thing and i donā€™t think its a sign of not taking anything seriously. Take their strongest lads out and of course its an issue.

On a related note. The Cork development squads seem to be a total mess and there were recent resignations on 2 teams.

As well as that it has emerged there is many issues with the Senior Footballers and at least one coach has left, the players are extremely unhappy with another coach and its believe one of the selectors was behind Paudie Kissane leaving.

And even more bizarrely, a selector put in a invoice for 1k worth of candles. Yes you heard right. Candles. After every training session the players were going chilling out in some room and a rake of candles were used.

So while the CB are not helping, the people in charge are certainly not helping either. Very poor management from Healy to let that manifest itself.

What a joke Cork is in fairness.

What
The
Fuck

I suspect the selector has a link to a supply business which just happens to be able to source candles?

I think i said what 3 times, could have been 4. Who knows.
Same guy behind getting tid of PK. Now PK may not be everyones cup of tea but what he would bring would be direct, evidence based and aimed at improvements.
Iā€™m all for personal meditation and all that, but at your own choice and convience. These lads had to go training in Fermoy and use a gym the size of my jacks, the least you could do is let them go home after fucking training. :see_no_evil::see_no_evil::see_no_evil:

I think he is a big shot in a bank or somewhere actually.

Some man for rumour all the same. When are the football management team resigning?

No light at the end of the tunnel at the moment so.

Spending frivolous money in that regard would get on my wick. No doubt there will be some waxing lyrical about it though.

The poor S&C work has cost the Cork footballers. Theyā€™ve been burning the candle at both ends

You reported the management team were resigning en bloc.

I did. And they havenā€™t. Yet.

There is very obvious disruption there. They lost a good all emcompassing coach, theu had a multi AI winning coach and hardly used him and they got an absolute bluffer in to coach them with no credentials as a coach whatsoever.
