The Official Cork GAA 2017 Thread

Between Bob getting the stadium gig also it has been a cracking few months for the old guard.

Well deserved extension for Frank. He has seen off the SIPTU brigade yet again.

Frank played the long game .

SIPTU won a few battles but Frank won the war .

A terrible couple of weeks for Cusack has just got worse.

Frank is a great friend of the grassroots. So important in an era of elitism and commercialism.

Heave? Who is going to heave?

he’s some man, Frank Murphy, replaced by Frank Murphy, only John Delaney can rival him as an administrator

How many times has Frank replaced Frank now? Twice in the past 10 years now anyway. Between this and fucking over Woolberto earlier in the year its been quite a 2017

Frank Murphy is Cork GAA.

Only Frank can tell Frank when to go and only Frank can tell Frank when to replace Frank - it’s as simple as that.

Meyler on about importance of backroom team again in today’s The People newspaper. Don’t think he’ll want to do it all himself. He’s 61 now I see. Loves hurling in fairness.

Do you really take a tack of notice of what managers say in paper?

But its quite possible players emphazized it to him. Hopefully he has the cop on to work with them. Nobody i talk to believes that though. It will be all his way

Strange thinking from a manager alright.

Ya. But can i not be pro someone who has flaws??? Or that he may be best of bad lot? I thought he was the right man 2 years ago before KK and really (other than them making the best but too brave a call on Murray brothers) the best man now as the alternatives are awful. But once they got a taste of modern management with KK now its a different landscape. I felt 2 years ago he would ratgle the wannabes and shake it up. Which was clearly needed.

I was unaware of the player resentment to him from last year though. Players expect a certain communication. They loved Keegan, it appears he is not Johns cup of tea but may be forced in his hand there.

I thought the tone of Seamus Harnedys interviews were very interesting after the County final. He was clearly not happy.

It appears they will have no field conditioning.

You might as well play teams with lead in your boots

This is why you should never coach

This is why you should manage

Thanks, mate.
