I’m not sure what’s going on @iron_mike, sure all you can do is go with it. The fact that you’re here seeking advice suggests that you’re concerned and have her best interests at heart, no doubt she’ll pick up that secure feeling from you and maybe wants to let you know.
Make the most of it, once they hit puberty they turn into little cunts.
Re. @flattythehurdler’s excellent post. Let them know regardless of what happens that you’ll be there for them. Our eldest one comes home from school or social outings and tells us she did this or that wrong and the teacher punished her, we tell her she silly/ bold / whatever and to suffer the consequences for it.
The important thing here is that she always tells us if things go wrong for her.
We have a laugh/ fight over it, but at least we know what’s going on in her little head.
At the end of the day hormones or not they still look up to us, so when they come home and tell you they’re in trouble for some really stupid behaviour try not to explode and start roaring, they’ll be reluctant to tell you stuff in the future.
Just don’t forget you also have to punish them for it.
A real balancing act.
Ps. It’s my wife is behind all of this sensible parenting. I’d choke one of them if it was left up to me.

Creche rang asking me to take Rascal home cos he was unwell. He was never sick before he went to creche but in hospital 4 times since he started in September. This on top of the 10% increase announced last week got me a bit riled. The manager must have been on the rag cos she took awful offence at my questioning her creche. She practically told me and the chisler to do one. Will remove him from this one but wondering whether to go to another creche or go the childminding route. Thoughts?
