Wiggins struggling on descent again.Minute down on all other GC guys.Imagine he will probably get back on as he is surrounded by teammates but this is happening too often for it to be unlucky
SBW dropped by Astana on the descent again. Currently a minute behind Nibali
Lovely work by Millar at front of peloton!
Wouldnât be surprised to see Wiggins jacking the sport in after this season.
Sky are ramping it up here with 9km to go. Hesjedal was dropped on the first climb and his tour is effectively over. Sanchez was dropped too but got back on and has been dropped again now. Nibali is starting to get isolated now too
Ha with 4km to go a spectator fell down a cliff. Think heâs ok.
Uran has a 50" lead over the Nibali group. Sky playing a clever tactical game but Nibali has called their bluff by allowing Uran go
Gesink & Wiggins dropped on the steep part of climb with 3km to go
Uran wins, Nibali finishes with Evans. SBW loses a minute or so but stays in 4th
David Walsh is beginning to annoy me. He was tweeting today how that was a good day for Wiggins. It may have been better than it could have been, but it hardly seemed like a show of strength from Wiggins or Sky.
Heâs travelling with the Sky team isnât he?
yes. saw some of his tweets today. gamekeeper turned poacher? Cheers for the updates
Walsh is almost too pro-Sky on Twitter. Whatâs his game?
Yeah he is but heâs still surprisingly positive about everything to do with them.
Walsh works for the British Media. He is minding his paycheck .A bit like Phil Liggett used to do with Lance. Actually Wiggins didnât do too bad considering. But in the mountains he is a follower he isnât able to attack, not his strength. Sky blew it big time last week. Was reading a fly on the wall article in the Times. In the pre-stage briefing, Wiggins was getting messages like âthree days to the TT Wiggo, you are counting down the daysâ. You canât have that attitude in a major tour.
Not just the British media but News International - not that far a remove from Sky.
No. He was a true believer in Lance at the beginning as well.
SBW over 2â down on the Peloton.
Just tuned in now, did Sky drop Wiggins too?
No they tried to help him. Apparently he is sick and todayâs stage was horrendous, weather wise. He just seemed to get dropped as the pace picked up to close in on escapees
Yep, apparently heâs saying he has a cold. Looking at the profile of the stage there is no way he should have been dropped today no matter what the weather is like. Team Sky obviously not using last yearâs juice this season.
Wouldnât surprise me if Wiggins pulls out and instead âpreparesâ for the TDF.
