The official TFK solar panel thread - thank God for Eamon Ryan

I’m getting kilt by shade at this time of year. 21 panels East West orientation and the neighbours trees are shading the 6 East facing ones and the angle of the sun also doesn’t give the best production.

Getting 9 or 10 kw the past few days. Should improve once March comes I suppose

A lot of different products and fly by night merchants out there. Any advise for me regarding this. Below is a system quoted. €10k after grant. Company is Blue Solar

Looks ok value

I paid €500 more for a 9.3kw system (1 more panel than your quote) with less battery capacity. The brand of my inverter and battery was Sigenergy which would be a bit more expensive, but he was a local lad and wanted to give him the twist. I think you are getting a fair deal there.

Got them installed 3 weeks ago. Mrs Glentaisie has the app on her phone and doing all the stuff with it whatever that is. Will see when the bill comes in.

My bi-monthly billing cycle for February to April ended on Tuesday but still awaiting the bill to see how we got on.

The tension is palpable
