The Double K.
Ditto
Iāve been asked to contribute 2 rounds to an upcoming music quiz, first is 10 band names taken from movies and the other is 10 band names taken from literature.
So far I have:
Movies:
Duran Duran (Barbarella)
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (The Wild One)
Save Ferris (Ferris Buellerās Day Off)
Veruca Salt (Willy Wonka)
The Fratellis (The Goonies)
Literature:
Steely Dan (The Naked Lunch)
Boo Radleys (To Kill a Mockingbird)
Eliza Doolittle (Pygmalion)
Aslan (The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe)
Uriah Heep (David Copperfield)
The Doors (The Doors of Perception)
Any other suggestions to make up the two rounds of ten welcome.
How would the question be phrased?
Steppenwolf
All about Eve
Thatāll do.
I could give them the 10 names and 10 movies/books and ask them to match them. Obviously wouldnāt work for All About Eve.
Modest Mouse is definitely taken from a book. Velvet Underground also but googling it I see it was a book about weird sexual paraphernalia which might create trouble in the event of a tie.
Fratellis: the goonies
Thatās really tough, good idea though
Iām fairly sure the Velvet Underground were named after a book.
They Might Be Giants actually covers both, I believe. Named after a film which took its name from Don Quixote (although thatās quite a hard one).
The Divine Comedy is a more straightforward one.
I think Black Sabbath claim they were named after a film but apparently it might be bullshit.
An interesting round, I like it!
I remember a good round in a music quiz once which was the original names of popular bands
Read what I already posted.
I donāt think the actual names of films/books will work if Iām asking people to match them up. It needs to be a character or clear reference to either, I reckon.
Just thought of another but itās very obscure.
Klaatu (The Day The Earth Stood Still)
Missed it, soz
