The Official TFK Table Quiz Thread

thought as much. coward

Wikipedia:rolleyes:. Is that a substitute for learning or something?

@Julio Geordio is getting up to stage three here.

As a former Cross Country quiz winner I would have answered Marengo. Perhaps the question could have been worded better.

Sorry mate. I hadn’t realised you were serious about us going to some table quiz and going head to head

You fucking ape.

Art has challenged me to take him on head to head in a table quiz FFS.
I can imagine the two of us sitting at 4 person tables on our own exchanging looks of contempt

like i said, coward.

we could even have a head to head in the 51

This reminds me of the time @Julio Geordio took on lapsed poster @The Dunph and ended up getting destroyed. Unrepentant Fenian @artfoley has torn him to shreds here.
Just read up a bit there on the subject of Napoleons horses and there is no historical reference to him ever riding a horse called Marengo, so this appears to be a myth.

He did however ride a steed called Monsieur Edward and a stallion called Nicolas, so yet again Horsebox and art are comprehensively vindicated.
Thank you, Fagan.

@Onthesod please edit your response to my post to Correct, Correct, Correct, Correct.

Sounds like this was a shoddily prepared quiz, with the quiz-master leaving himself open to serious abuse. Nothing reflects worse on a quiz-master than having to say “we’ve decided to accept both answers”.

As a former Blackboard Jungle quarter finalist I would have answered Marengo.

Marengo was the answer the QM wanted - We had answered Mons Edward but alas did’nt get the point… I had not envisaged as lively a debate as this when I put up the Question… Wikipedia seems to be the main source of information for pub quizzes. Unfortunately we did not use it friday night!! Still won it but I will have this debate in waiting for the next time I meet said QM

Said amendment is made

I would have to agree, there was an element of this. As it was a fundraising event, on cool consideration, I decided to overlook it for the sake of relations with the outlaws

In the light of the use of the word “horrendous” being used today on the travellers thread, here’s a quick question…
Four words in the English language end in “dous” horrendous being one of them.
Any offers for the other three?
