Thanks pal. As above, she really was more an acquaintance than anything and Iā€™m a very inactive member of the clubā€¦but a lovely woman. Herself and a few of the women clubbed together and got our little one a few presents when she was born, even though Iā€™d say I only knew them a few months. We used to run together once a week for a couple of months and meet each other on occasional spins. Her pals are absolutely devastated

Fucked up alright. There was a triathlon on here yesterday but they cancelled the swim as the weather was too bad. That one in Youghal was to be on yesterday but they postponed to today

Two separate incidents. The water looked mental from the videos posted this morning, swimmings were getting swept away from the buoy.

I was helping a mate train for the half on saturday. It was called off on saturday cos of the storm and he was given the option of today or next year. He chose next year cos he felt the sea was really rough and the swim would be too dangerous for him. Needless to say we ripped the piss out of him.
I know someone else who is a decent swimmer who was pulled out after 200m.

Thereā€™s a level of insanity in doing these things but the organisers have the final call and it lies in their hands.
