My father in law says Lowrys father was the biggest, strongest man he ever worked with. An animal. Lowry Lowry Lowry Lowry.
It’s an interesting coincidence that Lowry’s father Brendan is currently on a TV and with his Celtic cross in the palm of his hand. I remember him as being noticeably smaller and stockier than his brother Sean who subsequently won a Connacht medal with Mayo.
There won’t be a pint to be got in Offaly by Monday evening even with the Chief Biffo hospitalised.
Lowry was on the lash with Joe Canning in Galway a couple of weeks back. Success breeds success it would appear

Offaly could go on to dominate international golf for years to come. If Shane Lowry was 20 years younger, he would have been on an All-Ireland contending Offaly hurling team.
But since hurling evolved into a game in which you had to have at least a semi-reasonable degree of fitness, Offaly have been completely left behind, and the only quasi-sporting outlets left for Offaly lads now are golf and darts.
Lowry would have been this era’s Daithi Regan, Michael Duignan or Johnny Pilkington, except that Offaly no longer have a team.
Conversely, had Regan, Duignan, Pilkington, John Troy, Kevin Kinahan, Joe Errity, Brendan Kelly, Billy Dooley or Martin Hanamy been born 20 years later, they’d probably have been top professional golfers.
I imagine Shane Lowry will probably head into Portrush town tonight and find a pub. He’ll be in the company of a group of close friends who’ll keep an eye on him and make sure he won’t get up to too much mischief - plenty of craic will be had but his friends will keep an eye on him and place a 3 pint limit on him. Safest place for him, really.
The night at the pub means there won’t be any time for him to experience any nerves. He’ll hit the pillow about 1am and will be out like a light within a couple of minutes. Then he’ll go out tomorrow and win easily.

The weather is supposed to be bad. You’d imagine if he just gets it round even one or two over it should be enough. Avoid a mcilroy esque blow up and he’ll be fine
