The Open

He’s by a distance the greatest golfer of all time. Hed be 10 shots better than anybody else playing at the moment in his prime.

he’s not in his prime. He’s 40 odd. His back is fucked, he was still able to win the Masters.

you said only 3 days ago golf was a mental test.

Ya woods at about 70 percent is still better than everybody else.

The word you’re looking for is “embarrassing”, bro

The scores we saw at Portrush just prove the point about how links golf is the truest and fairest test there is

There were many winners from the tournament - Lowry himself, Irish golf, the official merchandising store, campsites and Air B&B hosts in the North Antrim region, but the greatest winner was links golf

and still able to shoot -15 under at Augusta. Wow. Tough track

15 under is a perfect final score for a major.

How is fair? half the field had zero chance because of the wind. That isn’t fair.

day 1-3. This course is piss easy the players are making shit of it, too many birdies
day 4. the players are shit, 20 handicappers wouldn’t play this bad…

the opinions of someone who just doesn’t get the nuances of links golf

“Big shane” as the Americans christened him probably can’t even rememeber he won it yesterday he looks so drunk. A disgrace all told.

No wind it’s a birdie fest. Wind for half a day half the field wiped out and the rest scramble around. It isn’t fair. It isnt a proper test. It’s the luck of a draw. Pitch and putt basically.

Conditions were the same for everybody, bro

It couldn’t be more fair

Again, did you head up to Portrush in the end?

You said here on Saturday evening you were going to go up there

Isn’t that what Lowry finished with as well :grinning:

Saw an interview with one of the Yanks last night, Tony Finau. He rated his final round of level par at Royal Portrush yesterday, the toughest golfing examination he had ever faced and the best round he had ever played.

Finau shot a 68 and a 66 in the Parkland golf at Augusta last year on a broken ankle.

Oooooft rating

maybe if the American lads and Rory learned how to hit a few different shots other than 350 yard drives and wedges they’d be better off.

They’re playing drive, chip and putt week in, week out on the PGA tour. Any bit of wind or tight rough and they are sent home with tae in their mugs. Paris National, grew the rough and the Yanks and Rory couldn’t deal with it

No I said I was thinking of heading up and decided not to. Keep up. It isn’t fair. How are the conditions the same for everybody when it’s perfectly calm in the morning and no wind to speak of. Then the afternoon starters have to deal with heavy rain and strong winds. It isn’t the same for everybody which makes it pointless.
