Watson leading with a flawless 65 (5 under).
some roung by him.
His stats were great.
Driving 299
12/14 FIR
15 GIR
28 putts.
Some going.
Played Turnberry for 3 days last year. It’s a smashing spot, but if it stays calm someone will do better than 65.
Greg Norman was in Doonbeg this week. Had a very bad start today though.
Woods lost it on the 3rd tee. Funny.
I was going to mention Fisher too. He came close at the US Open and had a solid Masters (if I recall correctly). I expect the leaders to come back and would also give the likes of Cabrera and Goosen a chance.
Just watched the final round of the US Open sequnce of sceces from Tin Cup there.
The storyline is ludicrous, as Maude Lebowski would say, and, like most sports movies, there are so many points on which the movie can be dismissed with utter disdain; the tight fringe and water feature on the 18th of what’s supposed to be a US Open course, the appearance and disappearance of McEvoy’s no-mark sponsorships, and the laughably pathetic swings of messrs Costner and Johnson amongst them.
The cameo appearences however, from Craig Stadler, Corey Pavin, Peter Jacobsen, Gary McCourt, Freddie Couples and Jim Nantz make the whole thing somewhat endearing all the same.

I don’t know much about golf or care much for it but i’m going to switch over to watch the finale of this. Some lad was telling me the other day that despite Watson leading after day one he was still available at something like 50/1 to win it out, due to him being a supposed has-been old fart. He’s 2/7 now to win it out. Go on you old fart.
