Ah yes artfoley
I have 2 gripes with Blue Monday.
It is heralded as a landmark single in music when it is basically just rehashing what had gone before.
Iâm not sold on the song itself. Iâm not saying its terrible or anything just that I find the song overrated.

Conor Lehane
Declan Hannon
Cillian Buckley
Jason Forde
All of these are at the moment of course. A good few of these will become very good hurlers.

Maybe landmark in terms of successfully fusing a load of shit together? Or rehashing as you put it. I donât think the band claim itâs original in the sense that they openly said Blue Monday was specifically influenced by other songs. FAO of Fagan ODowd - a quick google tells me the Kraftwerk song sampled is Uranium.
ive just figured out where yorkeâs voice comes from, itâs not him, its samples of timothy treadwell being savaged by that grizzly
indeed herzog comes up with advice of what to do with all radiohead recordings at the end of the clip

I think you are missing its significance farmer. While, All music is an evolution/rehash of what went before, That song - which wouldnât be one of my favourites - was the first mainstream indie/dance crossover and prepared the ground for the whole late 80s indie dance scene.
just to help people decide

unfortunately for farmer, his beloved radiohead mightnt have made another album had they not lifted from the hollies in an infinitely more wholesale fashion for creep
Itâs basically taking what Kraftwerk had been pioneering 10 years earlier and mixing it with Donna Summerâs disco dance from the late 70s.
Nothing original.
+1
Kraftwerk for slow learners
That wasnât the Hollies pal.
Also I have drawn attention to the âliftingâ on here before.
Finally, we get it. You donât like Radiohead. You donât have to post it 20 times.
Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannonball

also, iâve never seen you do so, and ocnsidering you dont know where radiohead lifted it fromâŚ
finally, when you throw out grand sweeping statements that you fear for the future of humanity (or words to that effect) because people dont like the sound of cats being scalped then dumped in vinegar (radiohead) or owls in a windchime shop (florence and the machine) the oyu can expect some pretty extreme push back

All your dreams are made
When youâre chained to the mirror

Todayâs the day that all the world will see

Read that link a little closer mate and youâll see that the Hollies didnât write the song. Itâs like saying a song ripping off Hallelujah was ripping off Jeff Buckley.
I canât be arsed digging out the exact post but if you search Smashing Tunes where I referenced a post of Creep by Balbec I think with that exact rip off story.
