Is Scoozis good now? It’s around a very long time, didn’t used to have a great reputation for food but was always a buzzy spot.

I don’t mind Italian food and food in Italy can be very nice, but it’s no better than many places I’ve been, I love Asian food but in Europe give me French or Spanish

No need to be defensive. I genuinely interested as I used to live in Cork, 15 years ago, and don’t remember an establishment offering either cuisine.

Have a look at the pic of the pasta @Spidey posted earlier in his ‘I can’t plan a holiday’ thread. If you open a sub standard restaurant in italy your family is shamed for a hundred years.

There’s always been a few top class French restaurants in Cork
Jacques has been around since I was a small boy,
There would have been Tapas bars in Cork 15 years ago, though I don’t recall the names

You’re not too far wrong if you mean the stuff you largely get outside of Italy. Proper handmade pasta is a completely different game tho. And a proper Italian cook makes all the difference. …

While we’re at it, Italian sandwiches with proper homemade puccia bread, and fresh mozzarella… Oh. My. God . Best sandwiches in the world.

I find their stuff very bread focused and I’m not a huge bread fan. That’s not to say that it’s not nice but I don’t want to be eating it all the time.

Their coffee is the shit though.
