The Philip Ryan SF Hard On Thread

whats actually scary is the cretins seeming to think that that actually constituted as a threat.

fucking twats

Thereā€™s a huge amount of Concannonbots on Twitter, part of the Eoghan Harris network Iā€™d say.

I would be fairly certain Austin Stack and Ann Travers were two of Harris accomplices on those accounts.

Is she back?

Not that Iā€™m aware of.

I mean, he also had this

Thatā€™s a huge issue, itā€™s just a shame he doesnā€™t investigate that with the same vigour he does on non-stories involving SF.

This was one of the main attacks on them over MHQ

Followed by a story talking about his millionaire brother

I think you chaps have an issue on any scrutiny towards you. I think the guy is a clown, but he is equally as big a clown to all sides. I suspect he generates quite a few clicks though, so thereā€™s thatā€¦

Doesnā€™t seem like an attack on FG.

Seems like a fairly mild commentary on gov policy.

I had a quick look at his timeline from mid May. He was tweeting and retweeting on that story a lot, as well as the article I put up there:

It isnā€™t his fault if it doesnā€™t get the clicks. If you look at this one here, what does it get, 3 retweets.

Itā€™s an attack on the Government. When you look at his SF articles, there are swarms of lads with tricolours, Palestine flags and fadas on his articles given them more attention.

He was publishing numerous articles on the SF database and pursuing it with vigour.

He didnā€™t seem to do much research into FG or FF on the same criteria at a time when Bertie Aherne admitted FF used very similar methods and at a time FG were pulling all their websites down for ā€œmaintenanceā€.

You surely canā€™t be suggesting that he is fair and balanced?

Itā€™s not an attack, itā€™s a commentary on their scandalous policies and he goes very mildly on them

He pushes a complete non story on SF for weeks and goes around pretending he has been threatened when people ridicule him with light hearted jokes on Twitter.

The SF IRA lads only want Gene Kerrigan to write about them.

It was a direct attack on them. The first article concluded with this;

  • Coveney and Varadkarā€™s efforts have, at the very least, slowed down plans to add high-risk EU countries and the US to the quarantining list, so presumably they will take full responsibility for any new variants or spikes in cases caused by international travel from these regions for the coming weeks.*

He then followed up with an attack on Coveneyā€™s brother.

This is just the style of journalist he is. This was another example of his journalism from December.

And a previous tweet from 2019

The issue you have is that he takes his hack style of journalism to SF.

I donā€™t think the databases were a non story tbh. The polling one certainly was.

He is all about clickbait, you give that oxygen.

Lads were hopping like mad when Ryan wrote about Pearse building a house. A similar nothing article on Renua boy and not a word :grinning:

at least hes consistently crap. thats incredibly unfair and downright dishonest regarding coveney.

has the bould phillip done a similar expose on leo?

My issue is his complete lack of bias and his one sided agenda. The lad he wrote a biography on has been involved in scandal after scandal over the past 12 months and he seems to be going after SF relentlessly on non stories while barely covering them.

The GDPR things, where did he do his investigative work on FF or FG there? Where are your articles to show balance there.

Indeed. Heā€™s a hack who embodies a lot of what is wrong with Irish journalism. He sits on Twitter and looks for clicks.

I suspect that his tweet at the start is a subtweet - basically SFers didnā€™t answers his questions quickly. Similar to Aoife Mooreā€™s equally bizarre tweet on Geoghegan using a well worn phrase on shooting people, because she knows thatā€™ll get the whole SF and violence thing kicking off again.

Basically our journalists are mostly shit these days. Hacks who spend their days on Twitter looking for what will pop.

We know you donā€™t even believe that.

Can you put up any attacks on FG other than commentary on their failed policy. The fact is Ryan relentlessly tries to push non stories on SF and his agenda is very obvious. Youā€™re not doing a good picture at attempting to equivocate here.

Ryan has penned numerous pieces on it.

You know just because you write a biography on someone, it doesnā€™t mean you are a superfan of them. My assumption is that like the rest of the journalists corps, he was trying to make some extra coin.

Iā€™ve always suspected Ryan has more FF contacts, tbh.
