Celtic are kicking off at 5.45pm this evening at home to Braga.
The fan protest has been postponed/deferred after the club reached out to fan reps last night & a meeting has been arranged for Monday.
I expect:
Schmeichel;
Donovan, CCV, Scales, Tierney;
Nygren, McGregor, Hatate;
Maeda, Iheanacho, Tounekti.
Braga likely to line up as expected.
Happy enough with that team.
Was worried about Ralston starting ahead of Donovan. Good to get a change in midfield too. Could have been a couple of different changes there but the three that had been starting the big games needed to be broken up. And Nygren’s goal contribution meant he deserves to stay in.
Hopefully Maeda can get a performance on the right wing because we really need his energy and chance creation and could do with some balance in the front line on the right.
Awful mistake by Schmeichel. And he’s been jumpy from the start with some terrible kicking & causing panic.
A dreadful goal to concede and we’ve been really poor since. Lacking all energy.
They’re finding it very easy to keep the ball against us. And our passing from the back is brutal. This is woeful
I was raging with Schmeichel before letting that shot in. He gave it away under no pressure three times prior to the mistake. There had been a few decent moments going forward, like Tounekti’s dribble & cross, & then his shot. But each time we looked like building up sustained pressure, Schmeichel turned it over. And then to allow that shot to go in was brutal, despite Joe Hart going to bat for him in co-commentary.

Carter Vickers is a shambles of a player.
Bernardo doesn’t seem to be pressing at all. They’re just finding acres between the front players and then our static defensive midfielders.
Tierney looks finished.
Bernardo has played a couple of good, quick passes to release Tounekti but his pressing has been off. Nygren is anonymous out there & nothing from McGregor again. Another case of the midfield misfiring.
Looking really laboured alright. Saracchi currently looking like a better option.
Ridiculous stuff. He had one outrageously bad pass at the weekend and blamed everyone else for his dreadful decision and dreadful execution.
Yeah he’s used the ball fairly well, or at least when we were playing well at the start.
But the system clearly isn’t working. Nygren reminds me of Stefan Johansen. A Teemu version of Kris Commons. Maybe harsh because the whole team are playing so poorly. But there’s zero balance to that midfield. We can’t progress the ball through them and we’re leaving so much space for them to play into.
