What a way to lose it.
Who was yer man with Lampard there
Yeah even one of the lads who wasn’t jumping could have just blocked his route. A bit naive really, Chelsea did well to drag players away from the back post. Zonal marking would have ensured there was a good aerial defender in that area.

It had been coming.[/quote]
there was a man there but he went AWOL
Nearly worth the cunts winning to see terry make a fool of himself in the full kit again.
Not sure who the pussy furthest back was. He was cowering when he could have gone and met the ball. I partly take the “man on the post” point but certain teams don’t use that tactic so they can have more bodies actually challenging in the area where the ball will be delivered to. Benfica had three or four lads there around Ivanovic and, as Scrunchie says, nobody went up for the challenge with him or even disrupted him. A terrible goal to give away but excellently taken by Ivanovic all the same. He missed the Champions League final through suspension last season (remember Geoff Shreeves telling him in the post-match Nou Camp interview!) so a great moment for him.
Ah there’s JT
Is that Zenden? What’s his role at Chelsea?
Another glorious European night made on Merseyside
Respect for John Terry, to find a phone box in this day and age of mobile technology to remarkably transform into his kit
You have to feel sorry for Benfica. 2nd time in 4 days they’ve been beaten in the last minute in their two most important games of the season
First time maybe?
Second time absolutely not. Their own fault
Rafa’s assistant
Benfica are a decent striker and a decent defender away from being a really good team. I hope they keep that team together over the summer.
I thought they rather wilted the longer it went on however and Chelsea scoring wasn’t a huge surprise.
How many goalies do Chelsea have aye?
Ivanovic’s header was very like Larsson’s against Porto in the 2003 final.
Rafa Benitez appears to be a gentleman.
Nice to see ruud guillet get a medal.
Ba robbed a medal. I’m telling

He is in fairness to him, he is a quality manager and was judged rather unfairly by a lot of people due to his last season at Liverpool and 6 month spell with Inter. He won’t be out of work too long. Wouldn’t be surprised if he takes over PSG or Real Madrid next month
