The Public Transport Thread

Has @Spidey set up the operations thread yet? Currently on a southbound dart terminating in Connolly as they’re completing track upgrade works this week between Connolly & Grand Canal Dock. I’ve an 18-minute walk ahead of me once I reach Connolly.

I will once one of these loudly heralded projects is actually operational. There’s all sorts of machinery on the tracks in Tara today that I’m 100% confident will be finished by the time the masses return on Monday.

We finally got congestion charges in NYC, it will be a welcome reprieve. @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy

Can finally put a face to you.

What’s going on here @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy

Looks like it was on the Sligo train arriving into Connolly. One person taken away. Seems a bit extreme to shut down the whole station.

Dublin’s Connolly Station has re-opened after it was closed for a time during this evenings rush hour at the request of gardaí following a security incident.

Armed gardaí entered the station in central Dublin during the incident.

It is understood that they were responding to reports that a person on the Sligo to Dublin service was carrying a weapon and that a person was arrested.

Gardaí have said the incident has concluded and that there were no public safety issues.

A spokesperson for Irish Rail said all services to and from Connolly were suspended during the incident between 6.30pm and 7.15pm.

Whats going on in connolly, whole.plac3 locked down and ARU in there?

Fella with a knife on the train from Sligo.

I, for one, am shocked to learn of such allegations.
