But that joke isn’t funny anymore
It’s too close to home
And it’s too near the bone.

Is that @Tassotti bedsit? No wonder he’s homesick.

What a song. Seriously.

The Russians are saying they have a vaccine that will be ready for purchasing on August 10th but their findings on its success rates haven’t been published for peer review and it hasn’t passed the threshold for number of humans tested with it yet :laughing:

What’s the story here? Will be there one anytime soon?

I would say Leo is right and there will be at least one vaccine or maybe several by the end of this year. How well it or they work is another question. Depending on the type of flu, the flu vaccine is about 40-60% effective in reducing hospital admissions. There are some reasons to believe any of the vaccines developed for Covid could be less effective than that.

It will be two years before we have something worthwhile

The vaccine will be against the current insanity. It doesn’t matter whether it stops the virus or not

They have no cure for the common cold and they’ve been working on that one for decades.

I wouldn’t be holding out much hope other than being advised to take plenty of Vitamin D.

The common cold? You make it sound like it’s a simple singular virus and not something with up to over 200 different viruses…covid might evolve to be another one of these…

Wasn’t some lassie from oxford univarsity supposed to have one baked up by the autumn?

No

If the common cold shut the world down I suspect they might have worked a bit harder.

Here you go

Well done on answering your own question.

Thanks petal.
