One of two things happened i think. Either this was a scripted loss to set up a famous comeback in the next fight, unlikely as mcgregor threw the towel in so quick and so pathetically, or what if diaz was brought in to take a dive early and decided fuck it, im a chump with a terrible record hardly ever fighting and making no real money, why not just beat him. Mcgregor went all guns blazing in the first round but when diaz fought back he visibly shit himself and folded very fast, he was rattled. What did diaz have to lose, his profile is automatically strengthened regardless of him failing to follow instructions.
