I thought the charge was assault?
Assault by means of rape.
Is there a reason for Assault being what he is liable for?.. is there a technical reason that it has to be presented to a civil court as assault rather than rape ? Or was it more of a move by her solicitor hoping that some level of assault would stick?
Conor had his eye wiped in court today. At one stage the judge laughed at the grounds of appeal that are to be put forward by his counsel. Counsel took umbrage at this and demanded to be treated with respect.
