I like sportspeople who do things you shouldn’t do but at the same time don’t do things as bad as supporting fascism
Things like being caught on camera singing the Fields of Athenry while drunk, glassing somebody in a pub during a row about which of Liverpool and Manchester United is better, repeatedly punching somebody for no reason in a pub, or doing cocaine with Mafia bosses at parties
That kind of stuff

Hearing amateur golfers or golf fans talking about the technical aspects of the game is one of the most soul destroying things you can ever do
That is why Peter Alliss is still a commentating God - he doesn’t care one whit for any of that bullshit
He knows that what real people want is no ad breaks, a velvet voice that knows what to say and what not to say at the right moment, old time pub stories and risque but harmless jokes

Have you seen Dublin’s facility at DCU - spartan to say the least. Nothing to stop Kerry, Cork, Galway use their college facilities. In fact I think Kev said Cork use CIT or UCC. Dublin have thrown in a prefab in the Parnell park car park using the weights equipment that they had paid for in Abbotstown but couldn’t get access to use.
AIG’s contribution is split across four competitive senior teams - football, hurling, ladies football and camogie. I’d say Kerry group provide far more to the senior football than Dub footballers get from AIG.

How many Kerry footballers or tipp hurlers live outside the county and have to travel back for training? Very very few I imagine. One hour commute (with prob a driver). Not much different than Mick fitzsimons trying to get from Dalkey to inisfails in rush hour traffic)
