I was in Shannon for the first time ever on Monday. It’s pushing Tipp Town for Ireland’s greatest shithole.
Shannon is a Rubby Club in Limerick City, mate… not to be confused with that cess pit Shannon Town in County Limerick.
I think Shannon Town has to be up there with Mountrath and Tipperary town as one of the biggest shitholes in Ireland

However grim Tipp Town’s main street is, at least it’s got one. Shannon is just a big ignorant road driven straight through a bog with housing estates on one side of it and industrial estates on the other. It’s like visiting a regional town in the States or New Zealand or somewhere.
