Ah in fairness stander has played 6 loads and played there a fair amount in SA before he came over. It’s also much less specialised position than open side. If it were me I’d pick POM stander 8 and VDF open side and see how we get on without Heaslip for once. Heaslip top notch but we don’t know if another combination is better as it’s never been tried as he is never injured.
But Schmidt has his own methods and he won’t drop Heaslip and won’t take a chance on both POM and SOB on squad with this little gametime

I think you only need to look at the bleating going on in the NZ media to understand this was not a “friendly”. But if some lads are getting their enjoyment from the game from claiming it is then it truly shows that rugby is a game for all.
