The School, College & University Competitions Thread (another thread gone west)

UUJ play NUIG in the first round.

Versus

Glass, McKernan, Canavan, Galligan, Conor Quinn, McCambridge, Mulgrew, Mulroy, Doherty, Loughlin.

Glen’s involvement at club level could be crucial as that would cost them Glass and Doherty. McCambridge could also miss out with Clann Eireann. So if it’s a Glen v Clann final all 3 will likely miss out.

Did Powter play much with UCC when he was there? I think he was injured most of the time

UL may have better luck with him.

There is a backdoor/losers section in Sigerson though?

Well that might make a difference though if Glen go the whole way Glass and Doherty likely won’t be involved at all.

Losers of NUIG/UUJ play Queen’s I think.

Okunbor is a serious player to have back. Think they had Ryan O’ Donoghue from Mayo on their roster last year. No sign of him in that panel this year.

The last 8 for the MacRory is sorted now.

Group Winners:
St Marys (Magherafelt)
St Pats (Maghera)
Academy (Dungannon)
Omagh CBS

Runners Up
Abbey (Newry)
Colmans (Newry)
Holy Trinity (Cookstown)
St Pats (Cavan)

Michaels (Enniskillen) and Ronans (Lurgan) who have won the last two MacRorys fail to progress past the group stage.

Some fine umpiring in the Harty Cup today.

Caught the end of the stream there, the NUIG and UUJ match was suspended for over 30 mins as a player waited for an ambulance before being called off.

NUIG awarded the game?

Never seen a player down for so long without getting any real treatment by the looks of it. Bizarre situation and a really bad look for the competition in general in terms of player welfare. Felt for Sean Mulkerrin there. A few jackets and hats thrown on top of him to keep him warm on a freezing cold evening.

Appalling stuff really. How can there be no stretcher in the place and even if not, is sitting on the frozen ground the best they could do for him. Some Ulster lad seemed to tell the commentator that the result was going stand and UUJ will go into the backdoor.

A famous night in Dangan

Holy Trinity beat Abbey to qualify for the MacRory semi finals for the first time ever.

Not sure why Holy Trinity and Abbey faced off as both finished second in their group. Dungannon and Magherafelt who topped the same group also face off.

The other two quarters are 1st v 2nd.

Letterkenny with a solid start against UL

Do they still have the Fish Farming course there?
That was the ultimate insult around leaving cert time, ‘you wouldn’t even get into fish farming in Letterkenny you thick cunt’ :grinning:

Lovely score Clifford.

Indoor Gaelic Football is a really bad spectacle.

This spaceship thing in Connacht should be knocked.

UL coming right back into it. Full forward line including DC hard to stop right now. Letterkenny very very indisciplined
