Cian Lynch never left it when he was in Mary I. Youâd see him in there every Thursday night and he hurling league on the Sunday. Different story nowadays maybe, we had a few freshers on our club team get a dressing down from a manager after word filtered back that theyâd done the dog on it in the aforementioned Icon during the week leading up to a championship game.
Lynch doesnât drink at all I thought. He used still go to every shindig going when he was younger.
Ya he did, scored a few points in the loose. UL struggled big time on long puckouts in the second half, your man comer was very good. UL forwards were poor bar a few bits and pieces from Jack Leahy, Screeney and Jack o Neill.
Theyâve a few inside backs and a midfield that can be got at.
Both teams missed a lot but it was there for Galway. Sam o Farrell missed about 6 shots. Theyâd some rash shots in the final quarter with the wind.
Ref Ciaran O Regan gave an exceptionally harsh free for overcarrying against UG in added time which meant they needed to goal. He also overturned a free in the first half for UG for time wasting which was harsh.
Bringing the final to Croke Park is some madness
O brien has a bug according to the 42.
Thought the ref was fairly generous to the UL glamour boys.
Very much so.
Tonight was the night to catch them. Galway missed the chance.
If Mary I had a full deck to choose from (and if it was on in Abbeydorney again) vs that UL team theyâd have a chance. They were comfortably better than DCU tonight down 4 or 5 key lads and only for the 10 wides they hit in first 20 minutes, theyâd have won by double digits. Iâd still give them a shot, Jamie Wall tbf to him has them set up in an effective manner but the system needs a fit and firing Shane O Brien against a team of ULs calibre
Are they seriously dragging the two teams to Croke Park ![]()
Should be on in Kilmallock or somewhere small.
I know it gets moved around and is pre arranged.
But thatâs madness even if it was two Dublin colleges
You reckon itâll be hard on their supporters?
Thereâll be more seagulls than people at it
If thatâs how they were spelling âthereâ in Carlow IT, theyâd have been as well staying at home watching Home and Away
UL didnât look right tonight. Looked like a bunch of a strangers playing together up front. A fair few look like theyâre minding themselves for inter county.
Mary I have more than a chance.
I thought OâDonoghue bullocked well without getting his rewards for it. Aidan OâConnor shot some wides.
Hoare in goals for NUIG was very impressive from what I saw. Delivered the ball always to good areas (with fierce distance on some) and made one brilliant save to his right in the second half.
Jack o Neill is a classy hurler too
Galway had ample chances to win it & couldnât get it done. They can have no complaints.
Kierans well on top against cbs in leinnster college final. 2-13 to 0-8 now. Physically powerful team
David barcoe St kierans capt after been asked where the party will be tonight? - " ah weâll leave that till after the All-Ireland" ![]()
Flannans playing CBS next not Kierans. Could win Croke yet
