Slot is too passive on the sideline. No energy. A man with 1 plan and nothing when things go wrong. I cant see him turning things around. The success last season was as much to do with a carryover of good vibes and habits from when Klopp was there. Much like how John Allen won an All Ireland with Cork after Donal O Grady left.

Outside of a Klopp or Alonso fantasy I can’t see too many sure bets knocking around. Guardiola lost 8 out of 11 around this time last season too and had a chastening experience against a Dutch team in Europe. Maybe Slot can salvage the situation to some extent in a similar fashion.

Im not sure about that. Last season slot had an amazing habit of making gamechanging substitutions. Lads coming on scoring winners. Its just all broken, the patterns are gone. I think sZoboslai is a savage player but him and mcallister shoot regularly now from 25 yards instead of trying to work it in. Salah gets it, flicks it on and goes to advance into that edge/corner of the box from where he has finished a hundred times before but he doesnt get the return pass anymore.

A clash of different attempts to exert authority has happened. So you now have rival camps.
The transfer committee exerted their authority, but at the same time threw out their principles of recruitment. They’re one camp.
That clashed with the authority of the senior players (Van Dijk, Salah, Robbo, Alisson) who really didn’t like the idea of a particular senior player being sold (Diaz). They’re another camp.
In the middle was a manager who had credit, but not real authority. These two other competing authorities have undermined his authority. Slot is now a camp of one.
The new lads are lost. They’re another camp. But Slot has to pick them for political reasons.
There’s another camp of lads who have been around for a while and have credit in the bank but seem either to have downed tools or look lost.
It’s all over the place and Slot is gone. He isn’t turning this around.
