Goal of the season there from Harry Wilson. Fulham have a fine team. Smith Rowe and Nelson are better than Martinelli and Trossard but Fulham badly need a striker. The Mexican minds himself up there.

I just deleted a post where I was going to ask you if this Cole Palmer character is actually fairly shit.
I think I remember that post of mine, it was poor form kicking a team when they were down. I had likely lost a bet. Brendan goes about things the right way. I think a European Super league is inevitable as it is the only thing to halt the Premier League juggernaut. Celtic would obviously be very well placed with their stature. Some of their recruitment in the last 15 years has been unbelievable when you think about it.

That really brings home the lopsided nature of the competition. It could really do with the Serbian war criminals Red Star Belgrade winning again.
This new CL set up is essentially a precursor to a Super League and/or an attempt to delay the inevitable. Can see how strong sides from top 4/5 leagues might consider it bloated or lacking jeopardy (cc GGA football championship) but itās potentially game changing for Celtic & other clubs from lower ranking leagues. 8 group games against 8 different opponents so more games & greater variety. Finishing top 24/36 teams in total isnāt an obscene goal & that would provide a minimum of 2 further games. 10 games at that elite level per season would be an attractive proposition for players looking to progress ultimately to a bigger league too. In general, I think itāll become very, very interesting as this group phase evolves. Some really big clubs well outside that top 8 at the moment.

Canāt disagree, the old format had gone stale with the way talent is spread these days. We were seeing too many return legs that lacked jeopardy or were foregone conclusions. The new format should bring further investment in Irish domestic football too hopefully with the number of games in these competitions now. I think a super league with relegation and qualifying playoffs and returns to domestic leagues could be the ay forward for European football, hopefully the bastards donāt get to ringfence it. There is always an appetite for novel pairings and big-time football.
