It eats chat JBC up.
Goal of the season there from Harry Wilson. Fulham have a fine team. Smith Rowe and Nelson are better than Martinelli and Trossard but Fulham badly need a striker. The Mexican minds himself up there.
That boy Wilson again, well deserved. Fulham have a super little team, can get Europe. Wilson with two top class finishes.
Liverpool should look at the Yank left back at Fulham, he is class; fast, tenacious, powerful and good on the ball.
They already did.
I donāt know how you professionals could come in from a dayās hard work to watch Fulham v Brentford.
He did get his skull fractured tbf
This is the business of being a top footix, it isnāt always glamourous
We donāt choose the life son
To hell with his skull, he needs to get stuck in; Brexit Mitch isnāt entertained any more
Not polished enough on the ball? I like him, he looks a Liverpool type to me, very athletic
Donāt mind me, I was very hurt by you posting similar re watching Celtic recently. Itās been gnawing away at me & ruined my weekend. I just want to clear the air.
Iām sorry I called you āSonā in that condescending manner, I felt I had to go all inā¦either that or reflect on my life and fuuuck that
I just deleted a post where I was going to ask you if this Cole Palmer character is actually fairly shit.
I think I remember that post of mine, it was poor form kicking a team when they were down. I had likely lost a bet. Brendan goes about things the right way. I think a European Super league is inevitable as it is the only thing to halt the Premier League juggernaut. Celtic would obviously be very well placed with their stature. Some of their recruitment in the last 15 years has been unbelievable when you think about it.
the best part is still to come when everyone turns on him.
Hereās a summary of UEFA Champions League winners over the last 20 years by country:
-
Spain: Dominated the Champions League with Real Madrid and Barcelona as the primary winners. Real Madrid alone secured five titles (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022), while Barcelona won twice (2006, 2015).
-
England: English clubs have consistently reached the top, with five titles distributed among three clubsāManchester United (2008), Chelsea (2012, 2021), and Liverpool (2019). Manchester City also joined the list in 2023.
-
Germany: Bayern Munich contributed Germanyās titles with victories in 2013 and 2020. Borussia Dortmund reached the final in 2013 but lost to Bayern.
-
Italy: Inter Milan won in 2010, marking Italyās last Champions League triumph in the past 20 years. Italian clubs like Juventus have reached finals (2015, 2017) but fell short.
-
Portugal: Though Porto won the title in 2004, no Portuguese club has won since.
Spanish and English clubs have thus been particularly dominant, reflecting their strong league infrastructures and investment in elite talent. Other nations like Germany and Italy continue to produce competitive clubs, with Bayern Munich and Italian teams frequently making deep runs in the tournament.

That really brings home the lopsided nature of the competition. It could really do with the Serbian war criminals Red Star Belgrade winning again.
This new CL set up is essentially a precursor to a Super League and/or an attempt to delay the inevitable. Can see how strong sides from top 4/5 leagues might consider it bloated or lacking jeopardy (cc GGA football championship) but itās potentially game changing for Celtic & other clubs from lower ranking leagues. 8 group games against 8 different opponents so more games & greater variety. Finishing top 24/36 teams in total isnāt an obscene goal & that would provide a minimum of 2 further games. 10 games at that elite level per season would be an attractive proposition for players looking to progress ultimately to a bigger league too. In general, I think itāll become very, very interesting as this group phase evolves. Some really big clubs well outside that top 8 at the moment.
Canāt disagree, the old format had gone stale with the way talent is spread these days. We were seeing too many return legs that lacked jeopardy or were foregone conclusions. The new format should bring further investment in Irish domestic football too hopefully with the number of games in these competitions now. I think a super league with relegation and qualifying playoffs and returns to domestic leagues could be the ay forward for European football, hopefully the bastards donāt get to ringfence it. There is always an appetite for novel pairings and big-time football.
