This has to go down as one of the greatest jams of all times…
Nick Cave performing Hendrix’s “Hey Joe” on David Sanborn’s Night music show back in the 80’s, with jazz legends Charlie Haden on bass and Toots Theilman on harmonica, and Sanborn on soprano sax.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7eiOsxzjKc

That was one of the greatest music shows ever. Sanborn would get the best jazz players, obscure rock musicans and avant garde performers to perform on his show and have a big jam to close out the show. Every show involved incredible scenes of the musical variety.

Few more clips from Sanborn’s Night Music show…

It must have been something to have known Debbie Harry in her prime.

It was quite something to have met her alright.

Dont stop there Fagan mate.

I saw her at the other end of the bar in the 7b bar in the East Village one night. She was in the company of Chris Stein. I put on my best Flurry Knox accent and went up to the both of them and told them that I really enjoyed their music and that they were very very popular in Ireland. Debbie said that it was so nice of me to tell her and she gave me a peck on the cheek. Chris didn’t say much. I was too embarrassed to stay in the bar after and I slunk off to another bar. That was it. No big deal except that she was radiant.

Fair play Fagan, more than most could manage. Some bird in her day, ideal for the some bird in her day thread some might even go as far as saying.

Bearing in mind that she was no spring chicken when they broke big ( she was well into her thirties ) she was exceptionally pretty

I might also add that I still get a flutter in my tummy whenever I think of this incident.

Wonderfull memory Fagan.

I think this crowd show promise.
