Elvis.
Jailhouse Rock.
āHey Judeā by Wilson Pickett - with Duane Allman on guitar. As an interesting aside, Eric Clapton said Duaneās solo on this cut was his favorite of all time. 'Nuff said.
Taj Mahal, featuring Ry Cooder on guitar. Another fantastic black vocalist / white guitarist combo.
Fuck it lads - welling up here. Grew up listening to this record (amongst others) from my Dadās collection. The intro. Well I can still hear the clarity of that beautiful jangly guitar, with the simple bass line and deft drum touches and the faint crackle of static - gives me goosebumps. Denis Locorriereās vocals are phenomenal - it must have been some thrill for Shel Silverstein to hear his work performed like this. Just perfect.
Mainly for the memories I have of the other one. Also, never a fan of Marianne Faithful.
A beauty from Irish rock ānā rollās greatest voice:
Christy Dignam - One Manās Dream
Listening to Selected Ambient Works II here from start to finish. Havenāt done so for a while as I have a Richard D James playlist that I listen to almost daily, but this shit is so good I had forgotten. No idea how I selected (get it) the tracks for my playlist, but have to make some sacrifices.
Canāt stand her
Outstanding.
Would you like some milk from the milkmanās wifeās tits in the morning?
Leftfield - Afrika Shox
Great video by Chris Cunningham tooā¦
Mike Scott sings Whole of the Moon to some muldoon Connemara schoolchildren in 1987:
Dedicated to a boy that was once told he couldnāt play the cornet. Hold on tight to that dream @Fagan_ODowd. Even if you are an old bastard, itās still not too lateā¦
An outstanding vocal performance.
