I’ve just been watching the excellent Escaping History doco about the Manics, highly recommend it.
Particularly the part where James Dean Bradfield is describing the interview with the NME who ask about Design for Life being a ballad, to which he answers of course its not a ballad you fucking dickhead (in an absolutely wonderful tone).
It’s a remarkable record.
