Big Black - Bad Penny
I prefer Steve as a producer I must say.
Sameā¦ sometimes he nails it though. Iāve seen Shellac 4/5 times at this stage and itās a good racket but I donāt need the records in my life much
ā¦ one of the ways that we show our age.
I was only listening to this yesterday. A masterpiece.
Iām not sure why I never really discovered the velvet underground or listened to them properly before. Magic.
Coincidentally I was listening to the original VU album last night. The one with the banana on the cover. Iād say side 1 is one of the best album sides ever.
I started listening to them a bit there last year and more and more recently. Iām at a loss as to why I didnāt discover them when I was a teenager spending most of my time listening to rock bands of that era.
Some times things like this can pass you by particularly as they never had the profile of some of the other bands of the era. The benefit of this though is that when you do finally sit down and listen it sounds so fresh compared to stuff that youāve heard hundreds of times before.
Iām still catching up on stuff I missed first time around.
Pound of pound I would say itās my favourite album ever.
Itās a good one alright. Loaded - the one @glasagusban was listening to is a very good album in its own right too.
