I think Kitt is good and Iām not afraid to say it.
Iām registering my interest in music again after a 5-year sabbatical. Iām liking some stuff from this crowd:
He has joined Tindersticks now.
That is Tindersticks from Nottingham.
It says alot about my respect for Bandage that I clicked in to listen to that. Never really bother anymore. Think we should have a rating system that means we have a qualifying thread and only those that get 5 thumbs up make it over to a Classic Smashing Tunes Thread.
Seeing as so many people seem to have a problem with it. how about we have a thread for smashing tunes and another for alternative tunes, something like what is there for the films?
Boxer is a very good album. Bough their most recent album High Violet couple of months back and it is probably my favourite album in a few years. Have you heard it? If so what are yor thoughts?
I havenāt Larry. Alligator is their first one and I found it overrated I must say.
Boxer is a good album though.
Yeah Alligator is poor. Last two albums have been considerable step up imo particularly High Violet. From reading interviews with them appears they have put an awful lot more effort into last two and they seem to disregard much of earlier material. Sometimes good bands just make shit early albums I suppose (eg Pablo Honey) and it can take them time from being a good live band to being able to record a good album.
This is one of my favourites off High Violet

This is a tune from their sister band Clogs. The twin band members in The National (Bryce and Aaron Dressner I think is the name) are also in Clogs. I think this is absolutely superb and one of the best tunes I have heard in years, but maybe not to everyoneās taste.

I donāt really like the lead singerās voice in the National I must say. I find it too deep and expressionless. One of my mates who initially introduced me to The National rates Allligator as easilt their best album but I canāt see it to be honest.
