This song initially benefitted but longer term suffered in the public consciousness for its association with TFI Friday.

It’s almost impossible to hear it and not picture some English D list celebrity from 1996 walking across a balcony to the mindless applause of some insurance salesman from Crawley shouting “'ave it”.

But the song is classic rhythm and blues that would have done justice to Hendrix or the Stones. The bass player for Ocean Colour Scene Damon Minchella is Richard Ashcroft’s bass player now and played at Croke Park. The bass playing on this song is outstanding.

For the week thats in it… Happy 80th Van, so many cracking tunes from this guy, but after watching the 2015 concert from Cypress Ave

Van was all over bbc2 last night. Cypress Ave from a Later with Jools Holland was epic.
