An icy European classic. The last song Abba recorded.
The Day Before You Came.
What a song.
No chorus, broods along for over five minutes. References to feminist writers, the humdrum of life, the day before you came.
Of course the person never came as it was always the day before.
âThereâs not, I think, a single episode of Dallas that I didnât seeâ.
I saw Kate on her comeback tour in Hammersmith Palace back in 2014. I wasnât impressed with her gig but then again I should have expected that it was never going to be straightforward.
Anyway - Wuthering Heights is a hell of a smashing tune.
the bucketlist gigs rarely, if ever, live up to expectation. theres no way you can go to one without a huge level of expectation in your head that will inevitably fall short (stone roses aside!)
If I recall correctly Kate wasnât on Farmers bucket list. He just went along because he happened to get a ticket and found the whole thing very ho hum. I was secretly seething because I had tried and failed to get tickets at all of the come back gigs.
Not necessarily true about bucket list gigs. Many of them surpass expectations. Some donât.
I finally saw Radiohead at Malahide Castle on the In Rainbows tour and they were unbelievable, best outdoor gig Iâve ever been to.
How to disappear completely
Great show. Beck and Deerhoof as supports.
Have seen Radiohead 5/6 times I think at this stage. Always really good live.
IIRC Bat For Lashes was the support act. Maybe you went to the first day and I went to the 2nd.
Sorry. Saw them at Marlay in 06 I think. Saw them at Roskilde for In Rainbows tour.
