Great result for Fergal O’Brien, he beat Stephen Maguire 6-5 to secure his place in the last 32. He faces world number 75 Lyu Haotian in the next round.
When do the Qualifiers for the Crucible take place?
The week before the main event starts, 11th to the 18th April.
ronnie wont be happy-- bingham knocked in a 147 too this morning!
Mark Allen could be the first Masters champion to have to qualify for the Crucible. He’s currently 16 in the rankings having exited in the Round of 16 to Mark Williams in China. Relying on results elsewhere for the rest of the tournament to cling on to the 16th and last seeded slot for the Crucible.
Tom Ford and Jack Lisowski both lost their quarter finals so I think that means Mark Allen holds onto his 16th ranking for the Crucible.
Semi final line ups is:
Mark Selby v Kyren Wilson
Neil Robertson v Barry Hawkins
Selby has had a very poor season but seems to be finding some form now. Neil Robertson has had a difficult two or three years with a lot of personal issues but dropping out of the top 16 and missing the Masters seems to have been a big wake up call. Should be back in Top 10 now.

I think Jimmy can win that one.
I’m quietly confident that this will be Jimmy’s year to win it all, actually.
Ooooft, big all-Ireland clash there. Fergal O’Brien in the same section too.
Jimmy is playing well in practise by all accounts.
And Matthew Stevens. A real group of death.
