At the 7th time of asking, Stephen Maguire finally wins a deciding frame at the Crucible to beat Tian Penfegi 10-9. He really rode his luck, in particular with an outrageous fluke on the blue to win frame 17 when he trailed 9-7.

Most probably Ronnie next. Maguire has caused Ronnie problems at the Crucible before without ever taking him out.
Ronnie I reckon will win it. Has spoken of the woods win and how its inspired him now to win this. His only problem is himself
All things being equal, if Ronnie is on his game, he should win it. He’s been scratchy at the Crucible for a while though. Since his last final appearance in 2014, its two 2nd round exits and two quarter final exits.
I’m only ever 2 phone calls away from having a word in his ear. I played it of ball back in the day had a super innings when I was 16 in the Vic, had an invitation pass to play Ronnie for charity back in 2009 never showed for the gig, played fergal instead. All in all a great night. Got a phone call 4 days later Ronnie apologies, just said no worries catch you again mate. Ignorant enough back then but hope to play him some day

Must have been a lovely evening for the Chinese lad, facing into a second day trying to overcome a 9 frame deficit in a first-to-ten match.
