Dave Gilbert is a guy thatās very underrated. Joe Johnson said on Saturday about half way through his 2nd round match with Mark Williams that he wouldnāt be the least bit surprised if he won it out.

I watched his match with Williams and Gary Wilsonās one with Selby last Friday evening and I was hugely impressed with both underdogs.
That was some smash and grab by Robertson to win that last frame. He had the poisonous dwarf tied up in Knots.
Gary Wilson first to advance to the semi finals. Heās beaten Captain Carter 13-9.

Heās played really well all tournament and three very good wins over three pedigree players - Luca Brecel, Mark Selby and Ali Carter.
I think heāll be hard beaten, no more than Dave Gilbert in the top half.
You can never fully know with lower ranked players. They could have a stinker but those two guys have shown terrific form since the start of the tournament and either would be a worthy winner in my view.

The lower ranked players when they get on a run tend to tighten up a bit. They forget everything that got them to that point and kind of hit a glass ceiling/bonus territory mentality. At this point I would like to see anyone bar Higgins win it.

Higgins is vile. A stain on snooker. He should have been banned for life.

36 frames won to get to the semi finals. 35 more to win from there to be crowned champion. Higgins has flagged very badly on final Monday last two years. His large girth possibly a lot to do with that.
