Higg8ns must be delighted with that how he is after winning 11frames is a mystery to me. Gilbert missed some pots in that last frame
John Higgins is such a terrific competitor. The best matchplayer to ever grace the green baize. Itās a tribute to his doughty nature thatās heās clinging on for dear life against young Gilbert. Itās incredible that Higgins is still competing at the business end of the big one at his age.

Donald Trump could learn a thing or two from John Higgins about how to avoid the unwanted clutches of Eastern European gangsters.
John quickly realised he was being set up, was in fear of his life, but played along expertly for his own safety and then got the hell out of there.
Unlike with the gangster Trump, there was NO COLLUSION, NO MATCH FIXING and NO WRONGDOING by John.
The FAKE NEWS News Of The World got its comeuppance soon afterwards when it was forced to close down in summer 2011 as a result of public outrage over how it tried to set up Scotlandās beloved snooker champion.
Summer 2011 was also when John was basking in the glory of his latest world title after he beat Judd Trump in a splendid final.
Real snooker fans would love to see a repeat of that final this year.

Barry Hearn became chairman of World Snookerās Governing body in 2009. Higgins was rumbled in Kiev at the start of May 2010. Hearn assumed a controlling interesting in the commercial arm of the governing body (which was separated out from the regulatory arm of the governing body) about a month later in June 2010. Higgins was one of the spokespersons for the players in the early part of 2010 backing Hearnās takeover of the sport.
